Our history

The history of ECOS is one of quality and deep industry expertise. Since our foundation, we have always managed operations with maximum organization and safety, staying ahead of market shifts by continuously evolving our competencies to meet the needs of today.

2010

ECOS is founded, bringing together the knowledge of EXMAR Shipmanagement, a company with extensive experience in ship management, and Fratelli Cosulich Group, an international key player in the maritime and logistics sectors.

2011-2012

At Drydocks World shipyard in Dubai, ECOS plays a key role in the conversion of FSRU Toscana from an LNG carrier into a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU). After departing from Dubai, the regasification terminal was towed to its installation site and became fully operational.

2013

ECOS signs a contract with OLT Offshore Toscana S.p.A. for the complete management and maintenance of the FSRU Toscana floating regasification terminal and its crew (see Terminal section). The unit becomes one of the most critical infrastructures for LNG import at an international level.

2024

In April, the FSRU terminal anchored in the Port of Livorno was transferred to Genoa and then Marseille for maintenance operations. ECOS oversees the entire relocation process, selecting Norwegian AHTS vessels Odin Viking and Loke Viking, operated by Viking Supply Ships, to tow the terminal. By mid-June, the FSRU reached the French port, successfully completing the first phase of maintenance operations.
